Born in October 1991 in Sofia, Bulgaria, Isabella’s ascent in the world of tennis began with promising milestones early on. Her standout performance at the final European Tennis Federation Masters Tournaments for Girls U16 in Reggio Calabria in 2006 secured her the esteemed N3 spot. Subsequently, she soared to N9 in the Tennis Europe U16 Girls’ Rankings in 2007, laying the foundation for an illustrious career ahead.
In 2012, Isabella Shinikova made her debut in Bulgaria's Fed Cup team, marking a significant milestone in her professional journey.
Her dominance at the national level in Bulgaria is unparalleled, clinching every conceivable title in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles from the age of 12 to her current standing in women’s tennis.
Her international triumphs began in earnest in March 2012 when she secured her inaugural women’s international title at the futures level in Amiens, France. This success continued in La Marsa, Tunisia, where she triumphed in doubles and secured a singles final just a week later.
In February 2017, Shinikova achieved her career-high in singles ranking, reaching an impressive N133 in WTA singles and N159 in doubles.
The year 2023 marked another crowning moment as she emerged as the Champion in Portugal at Caldas da Raina in the 60K category, triumphing in both singles and doubles.
Shinikova’s career boasts an impressive tally of over 50 finals at the WTA level, securing 24 singles titles and an additional 34 doubles titles, totaling more than 70 finals throughout her illustrious career.
Her Grand Slam appearances have been marked by notable achievements, with her 2019 US Open qualification draw reaching the third round, a testament to her tenacity and skill on the court.
